Commandments/Traditions

“Well did Isaiah prophecy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ For LAYING ASIDE THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, you hold the tradition of men. (Mark 7: 6-8)

“Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your Mother;’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’
But you say,’whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me has been dedicated to the Temple” –
is released from honoring his father…,
Thus you have made the [Commandment] Word of God of no effect by your tradition.
Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
“These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips,but their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. [JESUS] (Matt. 15: 3-9)

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. (Romans 12: 9)

…let his prayer become sin. One who turns away his ear from hearing the LAW, even his prayer shall be an abomination. (Psalms 109: 7b)

The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. (Ps. 19: 7-9)

Scriptures on Scripture

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Tim. 3: 16-17)

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.(2 Ptr. 1: 20-21)
